About The Founder

Lara Madkhali

Hello there, I am Lara Madkhali, the founder of JCC. I have had a huge love and passion for chess since the beginning of October 2021. I have realized that there isn't an active community for chess in Jeddah, and therefore, wanted to create one as soon as I could. I, myself, am not an advanced player, however, I am able to teach participants all that is needed to be a beginner to a winner.

Fun Fact: Chess has been proven to improve cognitive skills with concentration, pattern recognition, decision making, algebraic and geometric thinking, problem-solving, spatial reasoning, and critical thinking. It also improves self-confidence, attention span, and memory!​ (Colorado Master Chess). It significantly strengthens the brain!

My goal is to provide affordable sessions for great quality content for everyone. Chess is a game of beauty, art, and intelligence. It would be my pleasure to teach and help others experience the many benefits of chess and its great delight.

The goals of this club are for members to gain confidence in play, and critical thinking, and to create a community. I hope to see you soon!
